Delivery Information

The minimum order is £10. Free gift with orders over £25. FREE SHIPPING ON ORDERS OVER £50*.

*Orders containing chilled items will incur a cost of £1.99 for the extra packaging required.

 

Gló Foods Ltd uses both Royal Mail and Parcelforce to deliver your order to you. At present, we deliver within the UK only. We also offer local delivery at a reduced rate to the Bath and Bristol area (see details below).

The delivery cost will be worked out for you at checkout, based on the weight and volume of the items you have ordered, whether your order contains ambient, chilled and/or fresh goods and which delivery zone you live in. You will be able to select the delivery option and price that best suits you. See the table below for delivery costs.

Ambient goods are foods that can be stored above 5 degrees and can be in transit for a prolonged period without perishing. For example, dried and packaged goods with a long shelf life. If you order ambient goods only you will have the option to select second class delivery (2-3 working days) or first class delivery (1-2 working days) if the order weighs under 2kg. If the order weighs over 2kg you will have the option to select Parcelforce 48 or Parcelforce 24.

Chilled and fresh goods are highly perishable so require a constant temperature of below 5 degrees and cannot be in transit for longer than 24 hours. If your order contains chilled and/or fresh goods then your delivery option will automatically be set as Parcelforce 24 hour delivery.

 

Certain postcodes are exempt from Parcelforce 24 hour delivery and unfortunately this means that chilled and fresh goods cannot be ordered if you live in one of the following postcode areas: AB30-31, 33-38, 41-45, 51-56, 63; DD8-10; FK8 3; FK17-21; IV1-28, 30-32, 36, 40-56, 63; PH10, 11, 13, 14 ; TD15 2; HS1-9; KA27, 28; KW1-3, 5-17; PA20-49, 60-78, 80; PH19-26, 30-44, 49, 50; ZE1-3; TR21-25.

 

We send out parcels on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday only. We don’t send out parcels on Friday as they will be held in the depot over the weekend and won’t be delivered until the following Monday, in which time the goods could perish, particularly chilled and fresh goods. Orders made Thursday – Sunday will be sent out the following Tuesday. After checkout we’ll contact you to arrange a suitable delivery day.

Information about Parcelforce

Parcelforce offer you a great choice of where you would like your parcel delivered; to your home, to your work or to a neighbour. Whichever is most convenient. Parcelforce also offer text or email notifications, live tracking and a one hour delivery slot, for your convenience. You can change your delivery place if something comes up and you won’t be home to sign for your parcel.

All parcels require a signature, Parcelforce won’t leave parcels in a safe place so it is imperative you choose a delivery date where there is someone home to sign for it.

If Parcelforce can’t deliver your parcel the first time they will attempt a redelivery and will notify you of when that will be. However, Parcelforce cannot attempt redelivery of chilled goods. These parcels have to be destroyed if they aren’t delivered on the first attempt due to the possibility of the chilled items becoming spoiled. This is part of Parcelforce’s Health and Safety Policy.

What to expect

Chilled items will arrive in sealed, silver ice cube bubble bags, with frozen gel packs that are able to keep chilled items at a temperature of less than 5 degrees for 48 hours. Chilled items are kept in our refrigerators until the courier collects your order, and it is then delivered to you within 24 hours. It is advised that the customer places the chilled items into their refrigerator as soon as the parcel arrives.

Fresh goods will arrive wrapped in compostable paper and will be placed into your parcel last, to ensure they are on top of all other items and not at risk of damage. Your items will be secured in the box with compostable paper to minimize movement. 

All our packaging, except the bubble bags and gel packs, are recyclable so please do recycle or reuse them. We are dedicated to low waste, so much so, we reuse cardboard boxes and packaging that our own supplies have arrived in. We do this to minimize the amount of new cardboard and paper used. We invite customers to reuse the gel packs or to return them to us. Please email us for a return address, post them back and you’ll receive 5% off your next order.

Information about Local Delivery

On Monday evenings in the Bristol area and on Wednesday evenings in the Bath area a member from the Gló Foods team will deliver your order straight to your door. Your chilled groceries will be stored in a cool box and handed to you to put straight in your fridge.
